The reasons for this include, often the crime was not viewed as serious enough to warrant a report, it is felt that the police can’t do anything about it, or the victim is concerned about not being able to prove their case. Only 310 out of every 1,000 sexual assaults are reported to police. That means more than 2 out of 3 go unreported.
